5 Smile Complaints Porcelain Veneers Fix
Chipped tooth? Stubborn stains? Small gaps? In this blog, we show how porcelain veneers can fix five of the most common smile complaints, and why the results still look naturally you.

You don’t need a “bad” smile to feel unhappy with it. Sometimes it’s one chipped tooth, uneven spacing, stubborn discoloration, or a smile that just doesn’t look the way you want in photos.

The good news? You don’t always need years of orthodontics or multiple procedures to create a dramatic transformation.

Porcelain veneers, available here at CLE Smiles by Dr. Niki, can help you remedy one (or more!) common cosmetic complaints.

Below, Dr. Niki Cochran shares five common smile complaints that we hear at CLE Smiles by Dr. Niki and how veneers can address them all.

 1. “My teeth are always stained”

Our in-office teeth whitening can brighten most teeth by up to eight shades in one hour. That said, some stains go deeper than whitening can reach. If you fall into that category, veneers may be a better option for creating a brighter, more even smile.

Porcelain veneers can cover discoloration caused by aging, medications like tetracycline, trauma, or enamel wear. Because veneers are custom-made, they can create a brighter, more uniform smile that still looks natural.

2. “My tooth is chipped”

Small chips and worn edges can make teeth look uneven. Not to mention, chipped teeth can cut your tongue or lips.

Veneers can help here, too. They can restore the appearance of damaged teeth, improve symmetry, and help your smile look smoother and more polished.

Note: If you chip your tooth, call us right away for an emergency appointment. Getting your chip fixed can help prevent bacteria from entering your tooth.

3. “I don’t like the gap between my teeth”

If you have small spaces between teeth, veneers may help close them without braces or aligners.

Although veneers don’t physically move your teeth (like braces would), they do create a more balanced smile.

4. “I don’t like how my teeth are shaped”

If your teeth look too short, uneven, or irregularly shaped, your whole smile can feel a little out of balance. Porcelain veneers can refine the length, proportion, and shape of your teeth,  creating a smoother, more symmetrical smile. Best of all? You still look like you.

5. “My teeth are too small”

Some people naturally have teeth that appear undersized. Worn-down teeth can also appear too small.

Porcelain veneers can add length to create a fuller, more youthful-looking smile.

What to expect during the veneer process

Your treatment begins with a consultation here in our Lakewood, Ohio, office. During your consultation, Dr. Niki evaluates your smile goals, facial features, and tooth structure.

If veneers are right for you, it’s time to get started. Veneers are a two-step process.

During your first appointment, Dr. Niki preps your teeth. This involves removing a tiny bit of enamel, just enough to make room for your veneers. She also takes impressions at this time.

After your teeth are prepared, your custom veneers are created in a dental lab. When you return, Dr. Niki bonds your veneers to the front of your teeth for a long-lasting smile transformation. In fact, more than 90% of veneers last more than 10 years.

As a result, you have a smile that:

  • Addresses these five common smile complaints
  • Looks natural in different lighting
  • Resists staining better than natural enamel
  • Is customized specifically for your smile

Dr. Niki’s goal isn’t to give a copy-and-paste “Hollywood smile.” She simply wants to deliver a smile that looks like the best version of you.
